Reel: Kennedy Ryan Review

Reel: Kennedy Ryan Review

I give this book 5 stars!

This is the first book I’ve read from this author. Everybody else read ‘Before I Let Go’ and I decided to start with Reel. Only cause I had access to it through the kindle app and it makes it easier to read a lot of books on there. So book review let’s go.

This book was amazing and I love when authors add history into it and make you want to do more research on the subject. The historical character was Dessi Blue but if y’all can find anything on her please let me know because I couldn’t find anything. It does make it hard to find books on people who was never talked about or even given credit for half the things that has been done.

So there is a girl name Neevah that wanted to act and sing and she finally got the break of her life when a friend named Monk brought a big time director name Canon to her Broadway show.

Canon was looking for the person he wanted to play Dessi because he took this role seriously and he knew what he wanted and when he seen it he offered the opportunity and gave it to her. Yet they somehow end up trying to down play how they felt about one another. This was due to the fact he already experienced a fiasco with his previous relationship and didn’t want to jeopardize the movie that he’s worked so hard on and for. Not only did he find his Dessi but he found a love like he never experienced and so did Neevah. This story was really good and I enjoyed reading from both characters point of view and how love goes a long way no matter what that person may be feeling. You want something that bad you’re going to put in the effort and you’re going to show it everyday. No matter who’s watching and what others got to say. Especially dealing with the filming industry and dealing with people who hasn’t let their hurt go.

Have you read this book? What are your thoughts? How you feel about historical fiction stories?
